Why "Talking Cure?"
"Talking cure" is a term coined by Bertha Pappenheim, considered the first social worker in Germany, and an influence on Sigmund Freud, for what we today call psychotherapy.

"The Talking Cure" is also an inspirational book by Susan Vaughan, who is, as Freud was, a psychiatrist and neurologist. Vaughan explains how the talking cure literally changes minds, how therapy alters the biochemistry of our brains. She gracefully illustrates how through caring relationship people can cure their own minds and hearts.

Finally, "TalkingCure.com" is a web site, unconnected with this one in any way, that I none-the-less enjoy and endorse. On this site Scott Miller and colleagues at the Institute for Therapeutic Change debunk the Latest Baloney in the therapy world, and illustrate through research, much as Vaughan explains through biology, that What Works in therapy is related less to the various techniques of the therapist and more to the quality of relationship between the client and the therapist.
